The Slovenian Research and Innovation Agency (ARIS) is committed to ensuring the highest standards of quality, fairness, and transparency in the evaluation of research and innovation activities. Through its independent and evidence-based assessment processes, ARIS supports the development of excellent, ethical, and socially relevant science and innovation in Slovenia.

ARIS conducts evaluations of research and innovation projects to ensure that proposals meet the highest standards of scientific excellence, methodological soundness, impact, and feasibility.

In addition to project-based evaluations, ARIS is introducing a new system of institutional and field-specific evaluations for research organisations receiving block funding. These evaluations will focus on overall research quality, performance, governance, and strategic capacity, offering a broader and more integrated view of the national research and innovation landscape.

Beyond evaluation activities, ARIS also supports the development of research infrastructure, the implementation of open science practices, and the promotion of citizen science, encouraging collaboration, transparency, and public engagement in research.

Such comprehensive evaluation processes require a diverse and experienced group of independent experts with strong disciplinary knowledge as well as experience in research management, institutional leadership, evaluation policy, or strategic development of research and innovation systems.

ARIS is therefore particularly seeking researchers at the third and fourth career stages, with extensive experience, an excellent record of scientific or innovative achievements, and a commitment to integrity and high professional standards in evaluation.

Reviewers receive financial compensation for their work, with full details provided upon invitation to participate in a specific call or institutional or field specific evaluation.
