Bilateral cooperation

SCIEX, the Scientific Exchange Programme between Slovenia and Switzerland, is part of the Framework Agreement between the Government of The Republic Of Slovenia and the Swiss Federal Council Concerning the Implementation of The Slovenian-Swiss Cooperation Programme to Reduce Economic And Social Disparities Within The Enlarged European Union.

The two interlinked programme instruments provide for
(1) Research fellowships for Junior Researchers
(2) Short-term research visits for Senior Researchers of a granted fellowship.

Fellowships

The costs covered by a Sciex Fellowship are :

• Salaries of Sciex Fellows:
  CHF 50'000.- pA (Doctoral Candidate months 1 - 12);
  CHF 55'000.- pA (Doctoral Candidate months 13 – 24);
  CHF 80'000.- pA (Post Doctoral Fellows).
• The social taxes, which are to be paid by the employer (according to the SNSF rules).
• Additional Allowances of the Fellow (journey, participation in conferences) max. CHF 2'500.-

Please note that the Sciex Fellowship is calculated to cover the cost of living of one person – the Junior Researcher – in Switzerland.

Swiss Host Institutions will be required to finance all costs related to the work of the Fellow, which are not covered by the Sciex Fellowship.

SCIEX Calls

The Calls are scheduled as follows:

Calls will be launched also in 2013, 2014 and 2015 or till the funds allocated to Slovenia (CHF 833'000) will be consumed.
