Public call for proposals for Slovenian researchers in joint Flemish-Slovenian research projects with the Flemish FWO as Lead Agency

The Slovenian Research Agency (ARRS) calls for co-participation of applicants from Slovenia in joint Flemish-Slovenian research projects that are to be prepared as instructed by the Research Foundation - Flanders, FWO, and submitted to the FWO till 17.00 hours on April 1st, 2013.

The ARRS will co-fund the Slovenian part of the project whose budget

• may not exceed the Flemish budget and
• may not exceed € 100,000 per year for up to three years, or 1700 annual research hours (1 FTE), of category B for up to two years, if submitted by a Slovenian post-doctorand.

The Slovenian and Flemish part of the joint project must be closely related and complementary; the scientific contribution from both sides must be clearly visible.

The eligibility of the Slovenian participant is based on national rules (i.e. the research organisation must be registered at the ARRS, and the Slovenian PI must meet the conditions for a research project leader in Slovenia).

Upon submission of the project application at the FWO, but not later than on April 2nd, 2013, till 12.00, the Slovenian PI must submit the completed and signed form ARRS-RPROJ-LA-2013, in an envelpoe marked "DO NOT OPEN - Get the lead agency FWO", to:

and in electronic format (named ARRS-RPROJ-LA-2013-Pr.doc, where Pr is the surname of the Slovenian PI), to the e-mail address MednarodniRazpisi@arrs.si.

The ARRS will co-fund the slovenian participation in up to 5 joint Flemish-Slovenian project, starting with 2014, that will be positively peer-reviewed by the FWO, and the Flemish part funded by the FWO. The Scientific Council of the Agency will recommend such projects for co-funding to the Director of the Agency.

Funding by the ARRS is subject to budgetary conditions.

Addition to the public call for proposals for Slovenian researchers in joint Flemish-Slovenian research projects with the Flemish FWO as Lead Agency

The Slovenian applicant may also apply for a project of duration of 4 years; in that case the funding by the ARRS may not exceed € 75.000 per year. The total funding may not exceed € 300.000. For post-doctoral projects the duration may be extended to 3 years. The total funding may not exceed 3400 annual research hours (2 FTE), of category B.
